VIDiGREET.com and the Energy Action Coalition Announce "Million Moms for Mother Earth" Designed To Raise $1 Million For the Planet
LOS ANGELES, April 21, 2008: This Mother's Day, online greetings site VIDiGREET is out to prove to everyone who has a mother how much they love moms everywhereÉincluding Mother Earth. In partnership with the Energy Action Coalition, VIDiGREET announced today "Million Moms for Mother Earth," a month-long promotion taking place at www.vidigreet.com that pledges $1 from each VIDiGREET promo membership to the energy advocacy organization and their project ClimateChallenge.org with a goal of raising $1 million by Mother's Day.
"The youth climate movement in this country is working tirelessly for a clean and just energy transition in defense of our future and our children's future," said Brianna Cayo Cotter, Communications Director of Energy Action Coalition. "We are thankful to partner with VIDiGREET on this creative way to help Mother Earth."
Effective immediately, participating site visitors to VIDiGREET will only be charged $1 for a one-day membership, instead of the normal $3.99 one-day sign-up fee. After signup, consumers will be free to send as many Mother's Day ecards as they desire during the 24 hour period, with the net proceeds from their registration going toward the Coalition. Registration is handled in three easy steps and consumers will be able to select from approximately 20 choices to send to dear-old mom.
"This Mother's Day, who better to show our love to than the mother of us all-Mother Earth?" said Jeff Gorman, founder of VIDiGREET.com. "With what's going on environmentally, every little bit helps, so I'm proud to be able to raise money and awareness for The Energy Action Coalition and their project ClimateChallenge.org with our Mother's Day ecards. I'm also personally going to write a donation on behalf of our current members."
All net proceeds from "Million Moms for Mother Earth" will go to the Energy Action Coalition regardless of the total amount raised.
